Solar power charges electrical batteries, we have an instant-on generator backup as well as being connected to the power company..

What's up with the chanting/meditation room?
You certainly don't have to chant or meditate - it's just a fun, round room with breathtaking views, a domed ceiling and a gurgling fountain near the door.
